Valeo Human Performance, LLC was founded in April 2004 to expand our vision to provide in-home post rehabilitation and sports medicine services to individuals who had recently completed physical therapy programs, active chiropractic patients, and under insured/non insured individuals.  We then expanded those services to include outpatient physical therapy and in September 2007 Valeo Human Performance, LLC opened it's first office under the DBA of Valeo Physical Therapy on Clear Lake City Blvd.

A little more about Valeo Physical Therapy.  A common question we always get in the clinic is why the name Valeo since that is so close and often confused with Valero.  My quick response is we were Valeo before Diamond Shamrock renamed their stations Valero.  My wife Tara and I actually started with the Valeo name while we were still at Colorado State University.  During our master's degrees, we were lucky enough to have a research project we had been working on get selected by NASA for a phase 1 small business innovative research contract.  One problem, we didn't have a business or a name.  At that time we both came from anatomy/physiology backgrounds and decided we would look to Latin to come up with a name for our new research and development company.  Our project was the development of a new resistive exercise device for use in space, so we were looking for something with strength or power in the meaning and we found Valeo.  So we became Valeo Human Systems, Inc in 2000, developed the project, received a patent for our work and then moved to Houston in 2001.  At that time we elected not to move forward with the project and focus on careers and our relocation.  Maintaining my Athletic training and strength and conditioning certifications we decided to open Valeo Human Performance in 2004 and then the Dba of Valeo Physical Therapy in 2007.

Interestedly as we developed our motto of Effective. Personalized. Physical Therapy.  We revisited the meaning of Valeo and the first listed meaning is to be Effective and then to have strength.  Interesting how some things are work out.
